Nowadays the building holds one of the most peculiar restaurants
in the island of Lanzarote. The original decoration in combination
with the old stonewalls, the live piano music, the outstanding
service, the beautiful terrace just a footstep from the beach
with terrific views over the ocean and Fuerteventura make the
Almacen de la Sal a very special place for a romantic dinner or
a relaxing lunch.
With the best ingredients and thanks to the experience and taste
of the chef de cuisine, the Almacén
de la Sal delights its clients every day with the
most delicious dishes. Salt Cod al Pil-Pil, Hot Peppers Sauté
with Garlic, or Roast leg of lamb Segovian style are examples
of the big variety the menu offers.
The unique ambience, the modern installations combined with the
outstanding quality of food made the Almacén
de la Sal to become one of the most popular and
asked for places for groups, incentives and business dinners offering
special menus for special occasions.
The Almacén
de la Sal in Playa Blanca, built one century ago
by the Lleo Benlliure family, was used to store salt, an appreciated
good in times of deprivation, witch was produced in the Salinas
de Janubio and shipped by small boats to the neighbour islands
of and Gran Canaria. The building has been restored between March
1993 and September 1994 by the architect D. Ángel García
Puertas.
